Cleveland, Ohio - (Feb. 22) Ohio's Tim Courtad was honored as the Pepsi Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of Feb 22.
A Hwt. senior from Aurora, Ohio, Courtad went 2-0 during the week to improve to 24-1 overall and 5-0 in the MAC. He defeated Jim Sweeter of Kent, 10-3, and Ryan Kehler of West Virginia 4-1. Courtad has won his last 18 matches in a row.

Central Michigan's Chris Marshall (141 lb., Sr., Washington, D.C.) won his only match of the week, 8-4 over Kent's Mark Wentz. Marshall is 19-5 overall and 5-0 in the MAC.
Kent's Brent Thompson (125 lb, Jr., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) won two conference mtaches to improve to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in MAC competition. Thompson defeated Ohio's Paul Hodermarsky 5-3 and Central Michigan's Ahmad Sanders 4-2.
Northern Illinois' Alexis Rivera (125 lb., Jr., Chicago, Ill.) defeated Missouri's Jesse West 3-1 in the Huskies' only match of the week.

The Mid-American Conference 2000 Wrestling Championship will be held March 4 and 5 at Alumni Arena on the University at Buffalo campus. Saturday's first round begins at 1:00 and the second round starts at 6:00. Finals and consolation are scheduled for Sunday at 1:00.
