Ball State Overpowers Eastern Michigan With Three-Point Attack

Ball State freshman Laurie Kitts hit a school-record seven three-pointers and scored a career-best 28 points, leading the Cardinals to an 87-73 win over Eastern Michigan on Wednesday, February 16th. Kitts, who was 9-for-13 overall from the field, was one of four BSU players to record double figures in points. Tamara Bowie added 24 points, 10 rebounds and three steals for the Cardinals, who improved to 14-10 and 7-6 in league play. Moreover, Christy Jones added 15 points and nine rebounds, while Shala Crook had 13 points and five assists. Ball State also set a school record by draining 12 three-pointers on the night.

Eastern Michigan (12-13, 6-8) was paced by Kris Kachaturoff's 20 points off the bench and Abby Wiseman's 19 points. In addition, Amy Crickard added 16 points and Stephanie Smiley contributed 11 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.
